After a bit of a delay, the Formula D Racing League returned to the Singapore circuit to burn rubber and thrash metal about the windy racetrack.
And in a surprising twist, all 10 racers not only showed up for the big race, but only one single competitor wiped out before the finish line. While the sparkling sunshine certainly helped, I think our overall skill level (as much as you can have with dice-rolling, anyway) seems to be continually improving.
I feel like a broken record with the claim that each round felt more intense than the last, but the general consensus around the table was that Round 5 was a true nail-biter. Multiple cars, mine included, scraped along on their last leg on the verge of destruction. I was incredibly fortunate to survive almost an entire lap with no points left in any of my vehicle’s aspects. Jeff Myers, a.k.a. GameGuyThinks, was not so lucky and exploded before finishing the race.
This round was witness to some big shake-ups in the standings, with previous winners slipping in the ranks and other contenders climbing the ladder a bit. Congratulations go to Joe Aguayo with an almost perfect race, maintaining his 1st place lead nearly the entire time. It was truly awe-inspiring to behold.
